High Strength and Durability Fortified Installation Points For strut-type suspensions a thickness increase improves the strength and durability of the bracket attaching to the vehicle steering knuckle compared to OE shock absorbers. This higher rigidity of the knuckle's support also improves steering feel and makes the ride feel more stable. Please note that the thickness increase varies per vehicle model. Weight increase is curbed by keeping the thickness of the cylinder wall the same.
A bigger shell case diameter expands its oil capacity, for improved durability as well as a long-term stable damping force performance. High Performance Damper Oil Exhibiting a stable viscosity in a broad temperature range, the high-performance damper oil sustains smooth strokes and a reliable damping force under all kinds of circumstances. It has excellent anti-foaming properties that protect it from cavitation bubble-forming , and is resistant to overheating, so that it works noiselessly even on rough roads.
The damper oil keeps up its superior performance long-term, because it is also resistant to deterioration over time.
Rustproof Surface Treatment The shell case's bright TEIN-green powder paint coating excels in strength and durability, while our coating technique is eco-friendly and without organic solvents. After pre-treatment, TEIN's patented 2-Layer, 1-Bake powder coating method with corrosion-proofing paint is used for superior durability and rust protection. When regular shock absorbers fully stroke, their bump rubbers are compressed. The energy that is generated by that escapes as a repulsive force, which can disturb the vehicle's behavior.
Furthermore, repeated full strokes can damage the damper. With less damage to the dampers, H. Driving over a bump, the vehicle jolts and bounces. It takes a while to regain control. The vehicle smoothly processes the impact, does not bounce, and its behavior swiftly stabilizes.
In shock absorbers with inactive or no H. Resistance to the flow from the shim stack then, causes damping force. Near full compression, when the piston rod strokes beyond a predetermined point, the operative valve is pushed down and activates H. Discontinued Vehicle Part Price Order. Now remove the hood and old hinges. Get someone to help. A 10mm ratcheting combination wrench is recommended to reach one of the lower hinge bolts because they're a PITA! Install the new hinges but don't tighten up yet.
Measure from the center of the middle fender bolt back toward the hinge 6" and make a mark in the outer channel along the fender.
Make sure your mark in exactly in the center of the outer channel. Check your measurements and then using a center punch make a dimple in the steel. Drill through both layers of steel the thin part and frame Shown is the passenger side.
Clean out the metal shavings with a magnet or compressed air. Place a 6mm washer on top of a 6mm nut and slide them up under the sheet metal. I used a clip remover to slide them under. You may have to loosen the middle fender bolt and pry up slightly on the metal while sliding. Use your center punch to help line them up when you're close to the hole.
TIP: Apply a small amount of grease to the washer and nut so they'll stick together, this keep the washer from falling off. Install the ball studs from the Tein kit. Add some silicone sealant to prevent the edges of the drilled holes from rusting.
Use the 6mm washers under the ball studs. Only these washers will fit into the channel area of the fender. It appears in the photo that the washer will not lay flat in the channel, but that is just the silicone sealant holding it up.
Tighten up the ball studs using 10 and 12 mm combination wrenches. If you drilled your hole in the center the stud hex and washers will fit into the channel. Now reinstall the hood.
