The zombies in this game have a play with the day and night cycle.
During the day the zombies are lethargic, not giving much of a fight for players during their exploration. However, things quickly change for the worse at night as they become incredibly more aggressive. Developers have also tossed in some parkour elements within the game allowing players to easily traverse the city and its obstacles when fleeing the undead hordes.
Combat well has been changed from the melee focus in Dead Island towards gunplay, giving players an action-adventure experience. This expansion puts players into a new map filled with more content such as modifiable vehicles.
In State of Decay 2, players are dropped into an open world where they must build up civilization. This means making a settlement and finding a community to help fortify your base. You can even recruit one of these members to go with you on scavenging runs or further seek out survivors to bring back. This gives players more content to go through, along with a new open world map, more weapons, not to mention that you have the base game and the DLC already released for the title as well.

The Day Before is a game that quickly gained attention online. With humanity on the brink of extinction, few survivors scavenge for goods. However, there are other hostile factions after goods. Likewise, we have hordes of undead roaming around the world freely.
For now, the game is not slated to release until June of While initially the game was slated for , players will get another helping of Dying Light by February 4, In this game, humanity is on the brink of total annihilation.
Staying at one of the last safe havens, the city is massive but full of different factions. Though the game didn't quite live up to some of the promises made during its successful Kickstarter campaign , it's still a lot of fun to play. Nighttime can be particularly enjoyable due to how daunting everything feels, although playing with friends can make survival a lot more manageable. At least until the Blood Moon occurs on the seventh day, anyway.
Although Night of the Dead does have some open world sections, these are typically used for resource gathering rather than exploration. Without these vital resources, however, players would struggle to build up their defenses and would likely be overrun by zombies pretty quickly as a result. There have been plenty of zombie-themed tower defense games over the years, but few have managed to blend the genre's mechanics together with realism so seamlessly, nor are many quite as enjoyable as this.
The game is still in Early Access on Steam at the moment, but is already shaping up to be an excellent zombie game. State of Decay 2 is just one of many Xbox exclusive zombie games released over the past decade or so, though some will argue that it's probably the pick of the bunch.
The combat on offer here is absolutely fantastic and is backed up with a great score and some decent visuals too. One of the things that makes the same so enjoyable is its relentless difficulty, which demands improvement from players if they're to have any hope of surviving the game's brutal and unforgiving world.
It does have one or two problems, but these shouldn't be enough to sour the experience for most players.
Unturned is a little like Minecraft , only with a lot less crafting, far more zombies and a boatload of assault rifles. It's free to play , is available on PC and current and last gen consoles and offers a ridiculous amount of customization, both when it comes to cosmetics and map design.
There are a few different game modes available, although they all revolve around surviving hordes of zombies in some capacity. Most of them are multiplayer only, with some encouraging players to work as teams rather than go it alone. While there are PvP elements included, players aren't obliged to kill their peers , allowing everybody to focus solely on taking out zombies if they choose.
Developed by the same team behind the Zombie Army trilogy, Strange Brigade took quite a few people by surprise when it released in Rather than the spiritual successor to Zombie Army that many had expected, the game plays a lot more like Left 4 Dead , although this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
The 's setting is interesting and makes a refreshing change from the dark backstreets and abandoned research facilities that typically host these kind of games. The co-op elements also work incredibly well, although the narrative can at times feel a lot more B-movie than it does AA title.
For those more interested in gameplay , though, it's a solid pick. Neither really compares to Undead Nightmare , though.
Most of the map from the original game is present in the DLC, but with things gone haywire for old John Marsden. Days Gone got a bit overshadowed when it released. Reviewers may not have been particular kind, but players couldn't get enough and the recent PC release has only increased the game's popularity.

Almost anything can be used as a weapon in this game which includes guns so you can bludgeon, stab, or shoot away Zombies the way you like. This is a game which gives you the chance to slice, shoot, electrocute and do much more to the walking undead in your own personal way.
One of the most accurate brain eating simulator on the Xbox through Xbox Originals , the game lets players take control of Stubbs in a retro futuristic world of the 50s. So what is your main objective in Stubbs the Zombie? The more brains you eat, the more zombies you have which helps in creating a diversion or shield from the cops. There some really interesting and creative special attacks too, one of them involves tossing your own hand and then using it to pocess humans, allowing players access to weapons that is a good change of pace.
Left4Dead 2 simply tops L4D with more explosive content making its predecessor look pale in comparison. New campaigns, game modes, guns, all-new melee weapons makes this a complete Zombie Apocalypse experience from both perspectives. Sequel to easily one of the best Zombie games on the Xbox , Dead Rising 2 had a lot to live up to. The number of Zombies Dead Rising 2 shoves on the screen, similar to its predecessor, is simply overwhelming at times.
